MICHAEL Owen has broken the silence after his daughter Gemma split from her Love Island boyfriend Luca Bish.
Gemma, 19, placed second on this year’s series of the ITV2 show with Luca, 23.

The pair shocked fans earlier this week when they revealed they were no longer an item.
Earlier today, Gemma’s footballer dad Michael spoke out for the first time since their shock split.
The former Liverpool FC player, who is in Quatar at the moment ahead of the World Cup, took to Twitter to share his potential winners.
Michael said in the video: “I don’t want any of you giving me stick straight away.
“If you’re going to give me stick, put down the team that you fancy to win.
“If you do give me stick, I can find out what you predicted at this time and I can actually gracefully say your pick was better than mine…”
Gemma announced the news that they split on Wednesday evening.
She wrote on her Instagram story: “I wanted to let you know that Luca and I are no longer in a relationship. It wasn’t an easy decision but ultimately this is what is best for both of us right now.
“Many of you have been on this journey with us from the beginning and I want to thank you for your continued support as a new chapter starts.”
Gemma sparked concern last month of trouble in paradise with boyfriend Luca after failing to mention him in her interview with Tatler.
And this week fans noticed that she wasn’t by Luca’s side as he attended various events.
Luca broke his silence hours later.
The fishmonger wrote on his Instagram story: “Switched my phone back on after taking some time out to clear my head after an emotional afternoon to thousands of messages and news articles about my breakup.”
He continued: “I would have liked some time to process this privately but as you all already now know sadly Gemma and I made the mutual decision earlier today to go our separate ways.”
