TOO Hot To Handle’s Sharron Townsend has revealed he was once homeless and depressed after his girlfriend cheated on him.

The new Netflix dating show landed on the streaming service this week and it’s already been described as being better than Love Island and Love Is Blind.

Too Hot To Handle’s Sharron has admitted he was once homeless and depressed

Sharron, 26, is a special needs coach from New Jersey and has joined various other singletons on a luxury Mexican resort with the chance of bagging £80,000.

But his journey hasn’t exactly been easy as one ex-girlfriend did the dirty on him with his best pal, which led him to a very bad place.

“Growing up I had severe trust issues. My mum was a single mum, my dad abandoned us. We were homeless at one point so I
lost my faith in people,” he admitted.

Sharron said he found it hard to be celibate on the new Netflix dating show

“I did open up to one girl who I thought was different but she cheated on me with my best friend and I went through depression. I used sex and women to try to get over her but it didn’t work.”

Sharron revealed that he’s still not over the situation, adding: “I’m still bit broken, but a broken crayon still makes colour. I’m a well rounded person. I’m unique in so many ways. I’m learning to love myself. I’m a rainbow!”

Too Hot To Handle features ten young, hot singletons from around the world who come together in a tropical paradise for what they think will be the most exotic and erotic summer of their lives — but there’s a twist.

These commitment-phobes who love a casual hook-up, have to give up all hanky-panky for the entire retreat if they want to win the grand prize – and each time they slip up, the prize money goes down.

During his time on the show, Sharron admits he found it very hard to stay celibate.

“That was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do in my whole life. Sex was my go-to for everything.

“Stressed? Sex. Difficult day? Sex. When they first told us I was like, ‘Is this a church retreat?’ I could have done that anywhere!

“Who brings someone on an island and tells them not to do that? Mean people, that’s who!”

Revealing whether or not he broke the rules, Sharron continued: “I tried really hard, I truly did. I felt like we were all so broken.

“We use sex to cope or to communicate or to comfort. By eliminating sex we had to find out what else we had.

“There’s more to a person than the physical. We rebelled at first but eventually the rules did force us to find a deeper mental connection.”

Hinting that he did meet a special someone during his time in Mexico, he said: “I saw Chloe at first and went, ‘Wow, that’s the
first one, I can only imagine what else is to come’.

“It was heaven on earth. I had my eye on all five girls, then narrowed it down to three, then two. Eventually I realised there was one special person.”
