PAIGE Turley has revealed that her ex Lewis Capaldi has texted her to say congratulations after she won Love Island.

The reality star dated the hit singer for around a year when they were in college but the pair have remained good friends.

Paige Turley revealed that Lewis Capaldi had congratulated her

Speaking on the BBC today, she said: “I actually text him to say congratulations on his Brits.

“Yeah he text me back to congratulate me on Love island so it’s good but I haven’t really had a chance to catch up with anybody.”

And when asked about their relationship, Paige said: “We’re still good friends.”

She was then quizzed about what it was like going into Love Island and being referred to as Lewis’ ex.

Paige admitted it was weird but that she had never known him as a superstar, saying: “I think because I knew Lewis before, I don’t know him as the superstar.

“He’s always just been Lewis to me. It’s normal.”

While Paige was in Love Island, which she won with Finn Tapp, Lewis addressed their romance as he picked up his Brit Award – and he stressed that his hit Someone You Loved is NOT about her.

Swigging from a bottle of Buckfast, Lewis said: “Contrary to popular belief, a lot of people think this song is about my ex-girlfriend, who you can now see every night on Love Island.”

Laughing as the audience cheered, he continued: “It’s actually about my grandmother who has sadly passed away a few years ago.

“I hope to god that ITV don’t contact her to be on a reality TV dating show.”

In January chart-topped Lewis joked that he deserves some of the cash if she wins because he is the reason why she earned a place on the ITV2 show.

But Paige, who won the first winter series and shared £50,000 with boyfriend Finn Tapp , said he won’t get a penny.

She told The Sun: “That’s just Lewis, it comes as no surprise he said that. But I can’t give him any money because once I pay off my debts there’ll be nothing left.”
