GIOVANNI Pernice was left heartbroken when he split from Ashley Roberts six months ago.
But HOAR Online can reveal the Strictly professional, 29, is growing close to Love Island star Joanna Chimonides, 22, after meeting her on Instagram.
Insiders tell us the pair have been messaging back and forth – and met (virtually) when he appeared on her radio show.
“It’s early days, but he seems to really like her as he’s always liking her Instagram photos within minutes of her posting them,’ a source said.
Neither Giovanni nor Joanna’s reps returned a request for comment.
The pair are not officially dating, as when Giovanni appeared on Joanna’s FUBAR radio show, he said he was single.
The Strictly Come Dancing star said his dating life is “amazing” after his split from Ashley, adding: “Right now I am single and ready to mingle as they say!”
When asked if he’s on any dating apps, he added: “No… I want to meet the person and see if there is a connection. Obviously you have to fancy the person.”
He also slammed the idea of socially distanced park dates.
Giovanni has had a string of famous girlfriends prior to Ashley, including his Series 13 dance partner Georgia May Foote and Towie star Jess Wright.
When asked about his history, he explained: “I think I just had girlfriends. I didn’t think that they were famous.
“When you’re in love or when you’re in a relationship, you don’t think about the fact they are famous.”
He went on: “You can fall in love with the person who works in Tesco. It just happens. You can’t choose who, you just fall in love.”
Joanna has had her fair share of drama in the romance department, thanks to her on-off relationship with Love Island‘s Michael Griffiths.
Michael sparked up a romance with Joanna in Casa Amor in last year’s series and ditched his then-flame Amber Gill to be with her.
After Joanna was booted off the show, Michael apologised to Amber and tried to reconcile with her – to no avail.
Despite vowing to “never go back there” with Michael, Joanna was pictured kissing the technician at a music festival back in August,
Discussing their passionate reunion, she admitted she couldn’t “switch off” her feelings.
She previously dated Leicester City footballer, Ben Chilwell, in 2018 – who was “furious” when she went on Love Island.
