LAURA Whitmore has revealed that she’s having a Love Island baby with voiceover star boyfriend Iain Stirling.
But, as she admitted today, it hasn’t been easy to keep the news quiet – even saying she let people believe she was hungover while battling morning sickness.
The star has been on quite a run of keeping things quiet – with HOAR revealing yesterday that she had married last month.
Here we reveal the smart ways 35-year-old Laura had kept her baby news under wraps, from roping in Celebrity Juice’s Keith Lemon to letting people believe her morning carb-fests were because of booze…
Secretly sober
Celebrity Juice, where Laura is a team captain, is a famously boozy affair – with the stars’ drinks even lined up for them backstage before the show.
But she said today: “I was completely sober filming the entire series of Celeb Juice, which is quite the accolade!”
The star posed alongside the show’s host Keith Lemon on Instagram with a boozy-looking drink last month – but it now seems to have been simply a cunning diversion.
Getting Keith to cover
Laura today thanked Keith for making sure she didn’t have to do any of the Celebrity Juice challenges that would have been unsuitable for a pregnant lady.
The star, whose real name is Leigh Francis, commented on her post today: “At last! Massive ‘public’ congratulations! Lots of love and magical powers! Xxxxxx.”
She thanked the star for helping keep her secret in her reply, writing: “Thanks for doing all those challenges on juice I couldn’t do xxx.”
‘Fake hangovers’
Laura revealed today that people thought she was hungover while tucking into carb feasts in the morning – when in fact she had pregnancy cravings.
The star, who has a show on BBC Radio 5 Live, explained she let everyone believe she was suffering with the after-effects of drinking rather than morning sickness.
She said: “It’s been hard to keep such happy news quiet.
“Especially the times when I’ve had to run out of live radio to get sick in a bin or my penchant for a bowl of mashed potato in the morning. I wasn’t hungover like everyone thought.”
Hiding the bump
The TV star said today that her bump is beginning to show, saying: “It’s starting to look like my lock down beer belly is out of control.”
And she’s kept her tummy covered up in several recent pictures, with a gift-wrapped bag in front of her in a post about the Fashion Awards this month.
Another, taken just days ago, saw her in a long coat, with a both a bag and her arm covering herself up – and a pair of Iain’s alarmingly jazzy trousers stealing much of the attention.
