What kind of doctor is Dr Alex from Love Island?

Dr Alex works as an A&E doctor.

The 29-year-old, who is originally from Carmarthen, Wales, studied medicine at Exeter University.

He is currently working at the University Hospital Lewisham in South East London.

He was able to do Love Island as he was on a zero hours contract at the hospital.

What has Dr Alex said about the coronavirus?

On March 19, 2020 Dr Alex appeared on GMB about the experiences of front line NHS staff during the pandemic.

He told presenters Adil Ray and Ranvir Singh that people need to take the pandemic “seriously” because some people suffering from the virus are having to use ventilators.

Dr Alex said: “Patients who are becoming very unwell are requiring a lot of help and support.

“And we’re seeing that number grow. Please take it seriously, especially when it comes to our advice when comes to self-isolation, not going to pubs, clubs and bars.

“It really makes a difference and ultimately, will save lives.”

When was Dr Alex on Love Island?

Dr Alex appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2018.

Fans took the unlucky-in-love doctor to their hearts as he bumbled through the show, before eventually hooking up with Alexandra Cane.

However, he attracted the ire of viewers after getting cold feet and calling it off – saying he wasn’t feeling their relationship anymore.
