ALTHOUGH she stood by him during his trial, Dani Dyer decided to call it quits with her boyfriend, feeling betrayed after he downplayed the gravity of his crimes.
The Love Island winner is devastated as Sammy Kimmence was jailed for 42 months after scamming OAPs out of £34,000.
Who is Sammy Kimmence?
Sammy is a 25-year-old stockbroker and amateur footballer from Essex.
He plays for Barkingside FC.
In 2020 he was charged with scamming elderly people out of money.
Dani, 24, who is the daughter of EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, was engaged to boyfriend Sammy, despite their many ups and downs and the actor’s initial disapproval of their relationship.
They welcomed a baby boy in January, 2021.
Why is Sammy Kimmence going to jail?
Kimmence has been hit with three-and-a-half years of jailtime after posing as a financial investor to defraud two vulnerable victims, 80 and 90, out of out of more than £33,000.
Portsmouth Crown Court heard that Kimmence’s actions left an RAF veteran “living on the breadline”.
Kimmence was working in sales and administration for a sports betting business when he met his elderly victims.
His victims were clients at legitimate investment company Equine Global Sports Limited, where Kimmence worked as a senior trader.
The company received money from customers which it would use to place bets on horse races, on their behalf.
But Kimmence took the clients on when the business went into liquidation, falsely claiming he was authorised to provide financial services.
Prosecutor Mike Mason said: “This was a very unpleasant fraud against two men who Mr Kimmence deliberately targeted.
“He targeted them because they were old, they were vulnerable and somewhat isolated.
“This wasn’t something he migrated into from a friendship. This was something he planned.”
When was Dani Dyer and Sammy Kimmence’s baby born?
Dani gave birth to her baby boy with partner Sammy in January 2021.
Announcing the birth, she said: “After a very long day and night finally our special little boy arrived 23/01/2021 … Weighing 7 pound.
“We are in a complete baby bubble and enjoying every moment, can not believe he is ours, completely in love and so grateful to be his mummy..
“Sending all my love to all the other mommas to be out there in lockdown.. the best experience ever will never forget this day.”
But Dani is now set to be raising Santiago on her own as she has reportedly decided to no longer stand by her man.
“They have spoken and it didn’t go well”, a source told HOAR. Dani initially believed her scammer boyfriend would be let off the hook for his crimes. But this was before knowing the complete horror of his actions.
“Sammy had downplayed the court case every step of the way and led Dani to believe he hadn’t done anything too serious”, said the source.
“Now she knows the full horror of what he did, she is broken, she feels desperately sorry for the two men he scammed and whose lives he ruined.”
The 24-year-old is said to feel “utterly stupid for ever believing Sammy and she is totally overwhelmed.”
“The little dream family she thought she had has been smashed apart and she is now trying to work out how best to pick up the pieces.”
She has also been the target of “evil” trolls on social media, and wasted no time to call them out for their behaviour.
When did Dani Dyer and Sammy Kimmence start dating?
This is the third time the pair have been together in a relationship.
Before Dani went into the Love Island villa, they’d had a relationship that ended in a series of rows.
Once she left the villa and her romance with Jack Fincham came to an end, they rekindled their romance.
On April 23, 2019, HOAR exclusively revealed the pair had rekindled their romance after being spotted embracing in public.
An onlooker said: “Dani and Sammi were drinking and having a great time, and made no secret of being back together.
“Dani couldn’t keep her hands off him and the feeling was clearly totally mutual – they kissed for ages before heading off as a group, but he seemed to be keen to pass something to one of his male friends before they went.”
A pal told HOAR: “They were together for about a year, but she never really got over him and they got back in touch quite quickly once she split from Jack.”
After dating for 10 months the pair split in March 2020 when Sammy was in court for scamming pensioners out of their savings.
A few weeks later they were reported as being back together in lockdown, and Dani now denies they ever split back in March.
As mentioned above, Dani allegedly decided to throw in the towel following Sammy’s conviction.
She was also seen taking her former partner’s car back to a BMW dealership in Debden this Thursday, July 15, after he was jailed for five counts of fraud.
What has Dani Dyer’s dad Danny said about becoming a grandad?
Speaking on his podcast earlier this week, new grandad Danny said he’s upset at not being able to meet the baby in hospital after Dani gives birth.
He said on his podcast: “I don’t think I’m allowed to see my own grandchild. That is very upsetting.”
However the proud grandfather posted on Instagram: “So my baby had a baby. F**k me we needed some joy this year.
“So proud of you @danidyerxx cannot wait to meet the little beaut.”
But he also joked that becoming a grandad was the “second best thing to happen this week” after West Ham made it into the top four.
In March 2021, Dani revealed her dad “can’t stop crying” over his grandson.
