The reality TV newbie will be one of the first faces fans will see when the new series of Love Island launches this Sunday (January 12) – and there’s a good reason show bosses chose her for the show…
Who is Winter Love Island’s Shaughna Phillips?
Shaughna is a 25-year-old Londoner who works as a democratic services officer.
Before entering the villa, she admitted she would be full of surprises and to expect the unexpected.
“Im chatty, funny and clever people wont expect it from me,” she explained. “When they hear me speak about certain things theyll be shocked.”
Shaughna also hinted she isn’t afraid of falling out with people and isn’t one to back down.
When asked what her worst habit is, she admitted: “Thinking Im always right or should I say, knowing Im always right. Also I never know
when to shut up, there are some battles you wont win, but Im still going to try.”
However, she is a firm believer in girl code: “Dont go near your friends man and dont go near a man who has got a girlfriend at all.
“If I actually liked someone, had a genuine connection and a girl comes in and would like to talk to them, Id definitely mark my territory – in a cool, calm way.”
What is Shaughna looking for in the Winter Love Island villa?
Shaughna’s dream man is actually Jack Fincham of Love Island 2018 fame.
Unfortunately for her, he won’t be entering the villa this year – but there will still be plenty of other options.
Opening up about what she looks for in a guy, the reality star said she wants someone that is “funny, a little bit smart, not smarter than me as Id get really annoyed.
“I want someone I can watch the news with and have a conversation about it. I also want someone that gets along with their parents and who dresses nice and looks nice although looks arent everything.”
When does Love Island start and how can I watch it?
The new winter series isstarting on Sunday, January 12, 2020 on ITV2.
After the first episode airs at 9pm, you can catch the programme at the same time each night throughout the week.
It is the sixth season of the popular reality TV show – and the first of two series to be aired in 2020.
Love Island usually airs every night with a recap on the week’s events on a Saturday.
For the 2020 winter edition, Love Island: Aftersun will air every Monday at 10pm after the main show has finished.
Both Winter Love Island and Love Island Aftersun will also be available to watch on demand on the ITV Hub.
