IT’S almost time for the new school year.

We’ve rounded up our best back-to-school deals and discounts, including the cheapest school uniform and a pencil case that costs 89p.

First thing you need to do is write a list of everything that you need to buy and then set yourself a budget.

Do your research before you hit the shops to find out the cheapest prices and make sure you don’t miss out on a bargain.

If you can’t afford new items try buying second hand from charity shops, eBay or even local Facebook selling pages.

Here are our top 10 back to school bargains:

School uniform bundle for £4

Aldi and Lidl are selling school jumpers for 50p each

Lidl and Aldi are selling a school uniform bundle for just £4 this year.

It’s the cheapest price we’ve found on the high street for a jumper, two-pack of polo shirts and a skirt or trousers.

You can buy the items by themselves too.

They cost 50p for a jumper, two-polo shirts cost £1.75 and the trousers or skirt also £1.75.

Shop around if the items don’t work for your school uniform. There are some bargains out there.

For example, Sainsbury’s has slashed the price of old stock in stores. We found a school dress for £1 down from £9.

Plus Poundland has a new range of school wear that starts from £1.

School bags

George, Asda has a range of affordable bags

School bags are pricey! We could hardly find anything under the £10 mark.

This £2 drawstring bag is perfect for your little ones PE kit or swim bag.

It comes in blue, navy, green and red.

We also found a Peppa Pig bag at George, Asda for £9.

As well as a spiderman one for £10.

Stationary

Tesco is selling this back to school bundle for £6 down from £12

Tesco is selling a back to school bundle with 11 items, including a backpack, notebook, glue sticks, scissors, writing set and pencil case and it costs just £6, down from £12.

If you don’t need all the items however it could be poor value.

Remember to shop around and check Amazon and eBay for prices as well as high street shops.

We found these pack of 12 pencils for £1 at The Works.

Pencil cases

Pencil cases B&M, 89p each

B&M has a massive range of pencil cases, with most around the £3 price point.

We’ve found these ones, also from B&M, which cost 89p. They are perfect if you’re on a tight budget.

They are only available in-store, so find your nearest one to check stock.

Lunchboxes

Sistema lunchbox, £4.99, Amazon

We’ve found a lunchbox from Sistema on Amazon for £4.99.

Aldi is also selling a bento box, which is perfect for lunches, for £4.99 too.

Don’t miss out on cashback

If you do buy online then make sure you check to see if you can get cashback.

Websites like TopCashback and Quidco pay shoppers to click through their links.

All you need to do is find the bargain you want to buy, check if there’s a cashback offer and then click through and buy the item.

Cashback is usually paid within 30 days – but check the terms and conditions.
