ED SHEERAN has added to his growing property portfolio – splashing out £650,000 for a SHED.

The Shape of You singer, 31, and his wife Cherry Seaborn, 30, snapped up a Victorian railway carriage off the coast of southern England.

Sheeran,31, and his wife Cherry Seaborn,30, also own a five-property estate in Suffolk, dubbed Sheeranville

The carriage is situated on a strip of barren land but boasts views over the English Channel.

It comes after the couple spent a fortune building a sprawling estate in Suffolk.

But Sheeran, who earlier this year won a major court case over his writing, bought his more recent, and modest, property last year.

The two-bedroom home is a converted, original 1880s train carriage from the former Southern Railway.

As well as the antique carriage, there is a modern extension to the front and rear, in keeping with local planning restrictions.

Inside there is an open-plan living space, small kitchen and dining area.

Sliding glass doors open onto a small back garden overlooking the English Channel.

The property also features a wood burner and many areas have underfloor heating.

Sheeran is currently and a world tour through Europe and Australasia after finishing a run of five shows at Wembley.

The coastal bolthole is an addition to his property portfolio, having previously paid £3.7million for the family’s Suffolk estate.

Dubbed Sheeranville, it has slowly expanded to five properties, a football pitch, outdoor kitchen, entertainment area and ‘wildlife pond’.

The singer-songwriter lives there with Ms Seaborn and their two daughters Lyra, 1, and Jupiter, who was born in May this year.
