EVER dreamed about taking the family to Legoland and finding all the queues have disappeared?

That has become a reality . . . but you had better visit the Windsor resort soon, before everyone else cottons on.

Legoland Windsor Resort has reopened with socially distanced cars

You can even get two FREE tickets worth over £110 with Sun Superdays.

Legoland reopened in a flurry of excitement last weekend and I took my nine-year-old son Angus and his school pal on day four.

It feels as safe as houses. Even the cars have to socially distance, keeping one vehicle apart on arrival.

First on the itinerary was the newest ride at the park, the Duplo Dino Coaster.

James with his son Angus and his school pal on The Dragon rollercoaster

It is a baby rollercoaster for little ones but still had enough of a hairpin to make these big, brave boys cling on tight.

Then it was on to the classics beloved by everyone who has visited Legoland before: The Driving School, where you zoom about a miniature Lego city in a battery-powered motor, and The Dragon, the resort’s grown-up rollercoaster.

Such was the lads’ enthusiasm we went on it three times back to back, with no more than a five-minute wait between each turn.

“That was amazing,” both hollered as they raced down the stairs. “We could do this all day!” The boys were not even fazed by the new safety measures around the resort.

James and Angus, wearing their masks, cling on for a thrilling ride

After all, it has become the new normal for kids to see staff in plastic visors, to wear their own masks when necessary and to accept that not everything can reopen immediately.

Part of the Miniland attraction, where builders have spent thousands of hours creating astonishing brick representations of real towns and cities, is now dedicated to our NHS heroes.

Tucked into the middle are nurses wearing PPE, joined by some Thursday-night clappers, Captain Tom and even a square-headed Joe Wicks. What a great tribute.
