DO you have a craving for weird food pairings?
Last week, Weetabix shook Twitter by suggesting fans eat Heinz baked beans on top of the much-loved breakfast biscuit.
So I asked Sun Savers on Facebook what their strangest food combos were.
Here’s how to savvily give them a try, starting with the one from Weetabix . . .
WEETABIX AND BEANS: If you’re brave enough, pick up a 72-pack of Weetabix at Tesco for £5.25 — cheaper than the £6 at Iceland — and four tins of Heinz beans for £2.50 (£3.40, if bought individually).
SAVING: 75p on Weetabix and 90p on beans at Tesco
JAM AND CHEESE ON TOAST: Sun Saver Karen Dow loves strawberry jam with cheese — and many Savers agreed. If you fancy giving it a try, stock up on British extra mature cheddar, £1.79 at Aldi — cheaper than Morrisons where it’s £2.50 for the same size block.

M&Ms WITH SALT & VINEGAR SQUARES: I’m a fan of sweet and salty popcorn, so I’m quite intrigued by this combo chosen by Sun Saver James Gilks. You can grab a large 133g bag of chocolate M&Ms at Asda for £1 — cheaper than nabbing a 125g bag at Sainsbury’s for £1.50.
SAVING: 50p plus a bigger bag
PASTA AND GRAVY: Now, this combo could be controversial. Saver James Gilks also rated pasta and gravy as a mega match. It is certainly a savvy pairing as it would be a very cheap lunch or dinner, all whipped together from your kitchen cupboard basics (saving on forking out for more ingredients).
BACON AND BEETROOT BUTTIES: Most meat-eaters love bacon — and I’m a huge fan of beetroot, too. Sun Saver Christine Booth suggests boshing the two foods together in a sandwich — and many other Savers add that they’re fans of beetroot sarnies. You can currently grab a 300g pack of Sainsbury’s beetroot in vinegar for 80p, down from £1.
