We buy six candles a year at an average cost of £7.40 each, according to research by The British Independent Retail Association.

I love the gingerbread-scented 18oz glass jar Liberty candle from studio.co.uk as it’s a great dupe of the Yankee Candle one and it’s only £10.99.
But I was even more pleased to see Home Bargains has a Wickford & Co large gingerbread candle for just £2.99, which smells exactly the same.
