A STUNNED diner found her dessert difficult to stomach when she was handed a tub of ice cream at a popular restaurant., , She had ordered the popular Candy Mania at the Hungry Horse., , The chain says of the £6.29 treat: “Starts with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, laced with cookie dough pieces, topped with multi-coloured choc pieces, caramel biscuit finger, whipped cream and chocolate flavour sauce.”, , And customers are encouraged to share snaps of the monster signature pudding on social media by the chain., , But what she received was a tub of Tesco chocolate and ice cream – and charged the same price., , The diner – Becky Disdle from Havant – shared a snap of a previous Candy Mania desert looking delicious in a giant sundae glass and uploaded a photograph of the choccy ice cream horror she was given last week on the restaurant chain’s official Facebook page and wrote: “From this, to this, what a joke”, , One person wrote they’d suffered a similar experience and said: “Bad..took my lad the other day for his birthday he only wanted to go there because of the candy mania but he was disappointed when it was served like this., , “More time effective they said. Price didn’t go down to reflect it though did it.”, , Another person added: “I’d be like ‘I know it’s not supposed to look exactly like the photo, but this takes the piss’.”, , The Hungry Horse told Becky via Facebook: “Hi Becky, we are sorry for any disappointed caused by this., , “Please feel free to send us a PM should you wish to discuss this further with us. Thank you.”, , Another Facebook member said: “Looks like they are just handing out tubs of ice cream from Tesco. Absolute scenes.”

The chain says of the treat: “Starts with chocolate and vanilla ice cream, laced with cookie dough pieces, topped with multi-coloured choc pieces, caramel biscuit finger, whipped cream and chocolate flavour sauce.”

Diners are encouraged to share snaps of the monster signature dessert online.

But Becky, from Havant, Hants, says she was served what looked like a Tesco’s own brand vanilla and chocolate ice cream.

She shared snaps of a previous Mania in a giant sundae glass and the choccy horror she was given.

She wrote on the restaurant chain’s Facebook page: “From this, to this, what a joke.”

One person wrote they had suffered a similar experience.

The chain replied: “Hi Becky. We are sorry for any disappointment.”

It asked her to get in touch if she wants to “discuss this further”.
