A MAN has told how he turned his side hustle into a multi-million-pound business after he was sacked from a call centre.
Sabri Suby’s simple £25 investment paid off big time – as his idea grew into a global success after years of financial struggle.

The 37-year-old, from Australia, now flies in a private jet and has generated an eye-watering £750million in sales for his clients.
He is the brains behind King Kong, a digital marketing agency Down Under that has been crowned the fastest-growing three years in a row.
Companies are now fighting to outsource their advertising to Sabri in the hopes he will work his magic on their online ad campaigns.
The dad has now shared the details of his rags-to-riches tale, which began with a small investment and a belly full of determination.
Sabri explained his mother worked three jobs to feed him and his sister when they were kids, which instilled an unwavering work ethic in him.
At age eight, he began working before school to help her – “waking up early” to help her set up the cafe where she worked.
“I would sweep the floor, take out the tables and chairs, and set them up,” he said.
Although money was tight, Sabri said he never felt deprived of anything thanks to his “incredible upbringing.”
He told the Daily Star: “I never felt ‘poor’. I believe being poor is a state of mind.
“I mean, yeah I knew there was a lack of money when I saw my mum working three jobs and carrying the weight of two parents.
“But I had an incredible upbringing. I watched my mum hold down three jobs and still come home and cook a healthy meal for me and my sister.
“I coined it ‘single mother work ethic’’.”
Sabri was keen to take some of the financial burden from his mum, and took his first paying job making peanut butter at a local health food store for £1.35 an hour.
He even busked with a harmonica to help his family make ends meet, earning £45 in a matter of hours.
The savvy dad-of-three said: ” I had no idea what I was doing, but I didn’t let that stop me.”
OPPORTUNITY IS CALLING
So he was hardly going to let being given the boot from a call centre stunt his ambition.
Sabri had secured the job shortly after dropping out of university, but was left deflated when his boss fired him and said his performance was “s**t.”
However, he used his failed stint on the phones in 2014 to fuel his own venture instead of beating himself up.
The entrepreneur discussed his idea for King Kong with his future wife Shalini, who bought him a computer as a gift to help get his business off the ground.
The Byron-Bay-born multi-millionaire then spent an additional £25 adding credit to a prepaid phone to make cold calls from his rented bedroom.
His small investment went on to earn him a net worth of nearly £37million, as well as a seat at the table on Australia’s Shark Tank.
Sabri really hit the big time when he expanded his brand across the US, UK, Canada, United Arab Emirates and New Zealand in May 2021.
King Kong now boasts more than 200,000 customers in 136 different countries, and has generated over $4.2 billion in sales since its inception.
Sabri’s hard work in turn created 58 millionaires, while his agency made over more than £16million in revenue over the last year.
His incredible success led to him being ranked 81 on Australia’s Young Rich List.
The businessman continued: “I just hated having to worry about money. To have it as something that was always on my mind.
“When I started out cold calling in my bedroom it would of been hard to believe this.”
Sabri now lives in Melbourne with his wife Shalini and their three daughters, aged six, three and one.
But he is constantly on the go to keep raking in the cash, while wanting to relieve his spouse from the pressure of motherhood.
So he came up with a handy solution – bringing his brood to work.
The dedicated dad told news.com.au: “Raising a family is a team effort.
“My wife does the bulk of raising the children if we’re going to be honest.
“Right now I’m in Dubai doing business, I take them wherever I go.
“I want to have them (my family) by my side. We have a big company meeting (every day).
“My wife and my three kids are there, I want them to know what I’m doing.
He says it is just “one of the perks” that come with being the boss of a thriving business.
Sabri is currently filming the latest season of Shark Tank, where he will give budding entrepreneurs advice on their businesses as an investor.
