ICELAND is already getting in the Christmas spirit by revealing what customers can expect this festive season.
From November, the supermarket will roll out party treats such as mini steak bakes, Chinese chicken balls and a sticky toffee forest log.
Sadly we don’t know the prices yet, or the nutritional information, but it’s worth to keep your eyes peeled in a few months.
To get you in the festive spirit, we’ve revealed some of the best bits to watch out for.
Below’s what you can expect.
Frozen smoked salmon
If you enjoy smoked salmon for Christmas, you’ll be pleased to know that Iceland is selling it from the freezer aisle for the first time.
The fish is sliced before being rapidly frozen ready to be defrosted for Christmas morning.
We couldn’t find any frozen smoked salmon on sale in the big four supermarkets, although you can freeze fresh smoked salmon yourself.
Morrisons is currently offering the cheapest pack, where 120g of fresh smoked salmon sets you back £2.40.
Mini steak bakes
Perfect to get the festive party started, Iceland is rolling out a mini take on the popular steak bake pasties.
Just like you’d expect, they come with steak and gravy baked inside puff pastry.
Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco are currently all selling two-packs of 140g steak bakes for £1.
Mini fish and chip cones
Another option if you aren’t so keen to have the traditional Christmas food this festive season is Iceland’s mini fish and chip cones.
The packs come with salt and vinegar fish chunks and a helping of chips, served in classic fish shop cones.
Once again, we couldn’t find any similar party treats up for grabs at Iceland’s rivals, although you can currently nab a Bird’s Eye ready meal with fish, chips and peas at Tesco for £2, down from £2.50.
Chinese chicken balls
Iceland’s new Chinese chicken balls come with a sweet and sour sauce – perfect if you want an Asian twist to your Christmas dinner.
We couldn’t find any equivalent in the big four supermarkets so it’s worth keeping your eyes in Iceland stores peeled come November.
Sticky toffee forest log
If you have a big sweet tooth, you may want to check out Iceland’s new sticky toffee forest log.
The family-sized sharer weighs over 1kg and comes with a hot chocolate sauce and sweet toffee sponge.
If you can’t wait until November, Asda is offering a more basic sticky toffee pudding for £1.50 and it’s big enough for four people.
Millionaire salted caramel gold bar cheesecake
If you’re after some dazzle to your festive dinner, the supermarket is also launching a fancy salted caramel gold bar cheesecake.
The solid bar of chocolate hides smoked salted caramel and a crunchy biscuit base.
If you aren’t fussed about the chocolate bar shape, Asda and Tesco are both selling salted caramel and chocolate cheesecakes for £4.
If you’re already planning the Christmas menu, Aldi’s also revealed its festive menu for 2020, including truffle pigs in blankets.
The discounter will also be selling a giant frozen Ferrero Rocher dessert for Christmas from November.
And earlier this month, Tesco revealed its Christmas treats and it includes giant pigs in blankets.
