CATERS NEWS (PICTURED: Gill Porter, 57, a Bounty fan, Bury Manchester. ) -  Bounty-bonkers Gill Porter was left devastated when she heard the coconut treats were to be axed from tubs of Celebrations - because she reckons she's the controversial chocolate's biggest fan. Gill, 57, has been scoffing the bars for half a century - and loves them so much she's even holidayed on the Greek island where the iconic 80s 'taste of paradise' advert was shot. The mum-of-three from Bury, Greater Manchester, has loved a Bounty for as long as she can remember and would save up her pocket money each week to buy herself the chocolate bar as a child. Now, she polishes off about four bars a week - meaning she's scoffed more than 10,000 bars in her lifetime.   - SEE CATERS COPY

A BOUNTY-loving mum fears Christmas will be ruined with the controversial bars removed from Celebrations tubs.

Gill Porter, 57, has scoffed the coconut chocs since she was a child, still eats dozens a week and enjoyed at least 10,000 in her life.

Gill Porter, 57, reckons she’s the world’s biggest fan of Bounty – and is devastated that they’re being removed from Celebrations

The mum of four never thought anything would come of perennial mutterings about how many people detested Bountys.

So she was devastated when Mars Wrigley said a trial in select Tescos would let shoppers swap normal Celebrations tubs for ones without Bounties.

She said: “Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without having Bounty in the boxes.

“I know you can buy the large bars but it doesn’t compare to waking up on Christmas morning and having a bite-size Bounty for breakfast.”

Gill, from Bury, Greater Manchester, used to save her pocket money to buy a Bounty, and later holidayed on the Greek island where the 1980s “taste of paradise” TV ad was shot.

And at Christmas there is a scramble as Gill competes with husband Ian, 59, and daughter Jade, 39, for the bars in the Celebrations tub.

Gill said: “I’d rather they got rid of the Milky Way.”
