EAGER shoppers have been queuing since the early hours to get into their local Primark as the retailer finally reopens most of its stores today.

But opening times do vary between branches, and might not have returned to pre-lockdown times just yet.

Non-essential retailers, including Primark, are able to open from today

It is important to check you local store to see exactly when it is open before you make a trip.

Along with all other non-essential retail in the UK, Primark closed all of its 189 UK branches on March 22.

Now, you can use its locator tool to see if your nearest shop is open again.

At the moment, only Primark’s 153 stores in England are back to trading normally.

There has been no word on when stores in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will follow.

Primark has particularly suffered during lockdown as it has no online operation, meaning it hasn’t been able to sell any products.

When shoppers do venture into stores, they can expect to find fewer tills, lift queues and a new contactless returns process as Primark implements new safety measures.

Customers will be asked to sanitise their hands before they enter and must keep two metres apart while they are in the shops

Primark has previously said there won’t be any fire sale or special discounts to try and clear its unsold stock.
