SUPERDRUG stores remain open during the third coronavirus lockdown – here’s what you need to know.

The healthcare and beauty retailer is allowed to stay open as it provides essential services, such as medicines and its pharmacy counters.

Superdrug customers will still be able to shop in stores during the coronavirus outbreak.

It also sells important goods such as baby milk, nappies and hand wash.

Customers are being asked to observe social distancing rules, while fewer people are also allowed in stores at any one time.

Perspex screens have also been put up at till points and at pharmacy counters to protect staff from catching the virus from customers.

In addition, extra card-only tills have been opened to encourage customers to avoid paying with cash, which the World Health Organisation say helps spread COVID-19.

All testers, including make up, have also been removed from the stores, while face masks are also required unless you’re medically exempt.

In an update on its website, Superdrug said: “At Superdrug, the health and safety of our store colleagues and shoppers remains our top priority, so you’ll see that over the past few months we have introduced additional protective measures to ensure that all stores are Covid-secure to ensure a safe shopping experience.

“Alternatively, you can shop online here, where we offer standard delivery as well as click and collect.”

What are Superdrug’s opening hours?

Superdrug opening hours vary between branches, so you’ll want to check its store locator tool for the latest times.

Shops are typically open between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Sunday hours are usually 10am until 4pm.

Superdrug had previously reduced its hours at the start of the pandemic to allow staff enough time to clean stores.

Its temporary hours were 10am to 5pm.

Can I still order from Superdrug online?

Yes, you can still order from Superdrug for home delivery or click and collect.

Online orders are free for Health & Beautycard members when you spend £10 or more, or £15 for non-members.

On all other orders, you’ll be charged £3 for delivery.

Click and collect is free from Superdrug.

What safety measures does Superdrug have in place?

Superdrug has introduced the following measures to keep its stores safe:

  • Limiting the number of customers allowed in stores
  • Asking customers and staff to respect social distancing
  • Face coverings for staff and customers, unless medically exempt
  • Increased cleaning regimes across stores
  • Contactless card payments increased to £45
  • Card-only tills in some stores
