Three stores have already shut in the last few weeks, including one in Bromsgrove, Basingstoke and Rhyl.

Below is a list of stores that are closing this month:

  • South Street, Newport, Isle of Wight – March 25
  • St Catherine’s Place, Bedminster, Bristol – March 25
  • Deiniol Centre, Bangor – March 27

An Iceland spokesperson previously told HOAR: “We continually review our Iceland Foods and The Food Warehouse store portfolio to ensure we’re delivering the best experiences for our customers across the country.”

Across Iceland and The Food Warehouse the chain has over UK 1,000 stores.

Over the last few months major chains have announced closures, including Paperchase and B&M.

Food and pub chains have also been closing doors at several locations across the country – including Wetherspoons.

It comes following a tumultuous period for businesses struggling to bounce back after Covid and then to be hit with rising energy bills.

B&Q, Boots and Argos are closing branches.

One of the UK’s biggest card retailers Clintons has announced it will close two stores for good by the end of this month.

Halford has said it is closing its East Road Retail Park branch in Irvine after two already shut up shop.

The owner of Lloyds Pharmacy put all of its 1,300 branches at risk of closure in a huge shake-up.

The fashion brand New Look shut five stores earlier this year, following H&M which shut four branches.

While, supermarket giant M&S is closing more stores later this year after half a dozen already did.
