SUPERMARKETS such as Tesco, Lidl and Sainsbury’s are recalling some products due to allergy fears.

There are concerns items including chocolate, cheese and chicken could have been incorrectly labelled or could be contaminated with dangerous bacteria.

The Food Standards Agency shared details of the products being recalled as well as information on why the product is being removed from supermarket shelves.

Any person who bought the items listed below should visit their nearest supermarket to get a refund or exchange the product.

Tesco

Finest Festive Belgian Dark Chocolate Brazil Nuts

Pack size: 225g

Batch code: L0075004

Best before date: May 2021

The product is being recalled as it was incorrectly packed with Tesco Finest Festive Fruit and Nut Selection which contains sulphur dioxide that is not mentioned on the label.

The FCA said: “This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide and/or sulphites.

“The correctly packed Tesco Finest Festive Fruit and Nut Selection product is not affected by this recall.”

Lidl

Red Hen Breaded Chicken Nuggets

Pack size: 450g

Best before: February 2022

Red Hen Southern Fried Chicken Pops

Pack size: 210g

Best before: February 5, 2022

Lidl is recalling the products salmonella contamination was found in some of the products in the batch.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Lidl is urging customers not to eat the items being recalled

The supermarket said in a statement: “If you have bought the above products, we advise you not to eat them.

“Instead, if you are already making an essential trip to a Lidl GB store, you can return the item to the store for a full refund, with or without a receipt.

“Alternatively, please dispose of the product and email [email protected] including a photo of the affected product and Best Before Date and Lot Code.

“The Customers Services team will process this refund via letter.

“Lidl GB wishes to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Sainsbury’s

Sainsbury’s Cooked Mussels

Pack size: 300g

Batch code: 2653152

Best before: September 8, 2021

Sainsbury’s is recalling frozen by Sainsbury’s Cooked Mussels because Salmonella has been found in some of the products in this batch.

A spokesperson said: “We are asking customers not to consume this product & to return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store when it is safe to do so, where they will receive a full refund.”

Aldi

Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken

Roosters Breaded Poppin’ Chicken:

Aldi is recalling all batches and all best before dates of Roosters Southern Fried Poppin’ Chicken and Roosters Breaded Poppin’ Chicken.

The FCA said there are fears the products may contain salmonella.

Waitrose

Slow Cooked Beef and Ale Pie

Best before: November 2021

The product is being recalled as it contains hazelnuts and milk which are not mentioned on the label.

Waitrose Duchy Organic Cypriot Halloumi

Pack size: 225g

Batch code: BIO B0530A-3 CY0063

Best before: May 31, 2021

Waitrose & Partners are recalling the item because it contains milk which is not mentioned in English on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Waitrose No.1 Dominican Republic Milk Chocolate 49%

Batch: 0259

Best before: November 2021

Some products contain almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and soya which are not mentioned on the label.

Due to a packaging error, some products contain Waitrose No.1 Orange & Almond Chocolate instead.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and/or soya.

Easy to Cook Pork and Chorizo Burgers

Best before: All packs

The burgers contain egg which is not mentioned on the label.

Iceland

Chip Shop Curry Chicken Breast Toppers

Iceland has recalled their own brand Chip Shop Curry Chicken Breast Toppers and Southern Fried Chicken Popsters because salmonella has been found in the products.

Salmonella has been found in the above product too.

Twix Barres Glacées

Pack size: 18

Best before: June 31, 2021

Iceland is recalling Twix Barres Glacées (Twix Ice-Cream Bars) because they contain milk, wheat (gluten) and soya which are not mentioned in English on the label.

They may contain almonds and hazelnuts (nuts) and peanuts.

Uncle Ben’s Brown Basmati

Mars Food UK is recalling Uncle Ben’s Brown Basmati ready to heat rice pouches as some packs may contain pieces of glass.

The possible presence of glass makes this product unsafe to eat.

A popular baby cereal by Aptamil was also being recalled from major UK supermarkets and retailers over fears it contained pieces of plastic.

Meanwhile, Next has recalled a kids duvet and pillowcase set over fears children could get trapped inside.

Any customer who bought any of the products affected can get a full refund from the supermarkets.
