You don’t need to work in an office or have a degree to take home a good salary

The best-paying non-office jobs all have typical salaries above £30,000 – and you don’t need to go to university.

In the highest-paying roles, you can scoop an average of £50,000 a year.

James Neave, head of data science at job site Adzuna, said:Whether you are looking for a white-collar, blue-collar or grey-collar job, there are plenty of options with great salaries that don’t require a degree.

“More employers nowadays are recognising the value of skills which are either self-taught or learnt on the job, and they are willing to look beyond formal education qualifications when assessing candidates.

“Jobseekers without a degree should highlight their accomplishments throughout their career and the practical skills that are relevant to the job ad in their CVs.

“Consider emphasising industry certifications and job-related training as well.”

Top of the list is an air traffic controller with an average advertised salary of £52,961, according to Adzuna.

Solar installers can expect a wage of £46,190, while construction workers take home around £44,770.

You also don’t need a degree to be a pilot and an average wage is just over £40,000.

Bricklayers are in demand and earn around £38,000.

For some of these roles, you will need specialist training.

But in many cases, you can start as an apprentice on the job or through a training programme to earn while you learn.

For example, there are apprentice jobs for air traffic controllers, as well as bricklayers and florists.

Many of these jobs have the added bonus of being flexible.
