Hot tips on clean ovens

CLEANING the oven is a dreaded household chore.

Not only are products often overpowering and expensive, the job can require some serious elbow grease.

We reveal how you can save both money and time when you clean your oven

But there are some cheap and easy hacks for a gleaming finish . . .

DISHWASHER TABS: Dissolve one tab in warm water then use this solution to gently work away at the grease on the oven’s glass door.

I swapped Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner for this and saved myself £3.

did the same with my stainless steel hob and it has never looked better.

FABULOUS FOAM: You can easily clean your oven really well with a mixture of bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar.

Just combine the two to form a paste, then rub  on to the dirty areas — it will turn slightly foamy as you do this.

Leave for 30 minutes then wipe and wash off with warm water.

Your oven will be grime-free.

BARGAIN CLEANER: Oven Pride is a cheap but highly rated and trusty oven- cleaning product.

But instead of paying £3.95 for it at Asda, head to B&M where similar product Oven Brite is on sale for £1.49, down from £1.59.

It is a cheaper but good alternative.

HANDY SCRAPER: Sometimes no matter how well you clean the oven door you still end up with  tough, burnt-on marks.

Try a glass and ceramic hob-scraper, which Amazon sells for £4.81, to get them off.

It works a treat but be careful not to scratch the glass.

KEEP IT CLEAN: Once you have your oven squeaky-clean, keep it that way using this quick and easy tip.

Straight after you have finished using the oven,  put a heat-resistant bowl filled with water inside it and leave for 20 minutes.

This will help  loosen up any grease.

Afterwards, leave the oven to cool then wipe down to remove the grime.
