Young’s plans to start opening pubs with beer gardens from mid-July

YOUNG’S is planning to start re-opening it’s London pubs with beer garden from mid-July.

The company said today it will implement one-metre social distancing measures, according to reports in the Evening Standard.

The firm, which has 276 pubs, most of which are in the capital, said it will start trading again in mid-July at its larger venues.

But the firm said it hopes to have all sites open on August 3.

It added a thorough cleaning and sanitising regime will be put in place.

In its preliminary results published today it said: “We are confident with the steps we have taken to safeguard our business from the immediate threat of coronavirus.

“The board expects our pubs to have opened by August 3 and for trading in FY21 to be materially below average.”
