Sydney: Sydney opera house theatre building rising from Sydney harbour waters on a sunny bright day against blue sky.

THOUSANDS of workers are tempted to waltz off Down Under on a promise of sun, sea, sex — and supersized salaries.

They are being wooed by an Aussie delegation touring the country hunting those fed up with dreary Britain.

60,000 fed-up Brits are tempted to go to Australia on promise of a salary boost

So far 60,000 are said to have expressed an interest in beginning a new life in the sun.

One of the King’s policemen on duty outside Horse Guards Parade was reportedly one of those tempted by a bumper starting salary of £51,000 a year.

And Australian minister Paul Papalia said the lifestyle came with a big perk — loads of sex.

He boasted: “We are the new Love Island. If you’re a single Brit, come on out because you might not be single for long.” Mr Papalia is trying to recruit 30,000 to work in the public sector in Western Australia.

Top targets are police officers, nurses and teachers. He said: “It’s lower cost of living, higher wages and magnificent weather. What’s not to like?”

But unashamed Mr Papalia insisted it was a case of “getting our own back” after decades of Aussies flocking to Britain.

He said: “You took some of our best and brightest. And there was never that question in regards to us losing our young ones to the UK.”

A brain drain to Australia is the last thing Britain needs as it grapples with staffing shortages.

A Downing Street spokesman responded: “For our part, we are very proud of the strong Australian community who come in their droves to the UK every year, and you contribute to our thriving economy, culture and communities.”
