THE BBC has sparked fury again by mixing up pictures of two black female MPs.
The corporation was slammed after it confused Marsha de Cordova with fellow Labour MP Dawn Butler.
The fresh race row comes just days after the BBC made another huge error in confusing Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
Contender for the Labour deputy leadership Dawn Butler blasted the BBC for flashing her name up as Ms de Cordova spoke in Parliament.
She said: “@BBCNews @BBCPolitics I love my sister @MarshadeCordova but we are two different people. Marsha is amazing and deserves to be called by her own name.”
“Diversity in the workplace matters it also helps to avoid making simple mistakes like this”.
Ms de Cordova was furious over the mix-up.
She wrote: “This is what happens when the media does not represent the society it reports on. Representation matters. Diversity matters. This cannot continue.”
This morning Ms de Cordova said the BBC still had not apologised.
She said: “It’s not ok at all. Still no apology.”
The Beeb has been getting a beating over racial mistakes after it used a picture of LeBron James in its coverage of the death of Kobe Bryant.
BBC’s News at Ten programme mixed up pictures of James and Bryant just over a week ago in its report on the death of Byrant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna in a helicopter crash.
Newsreader Reeta Chakrabarti apologised for the error.
She said: “In our coverage of the death of Kobe Bryant, in one section of the report, we mistakenly showed pictures of another basketball player, LeBron James.”
“We do apologise for the error.”
Editor of BBC News at Six and Ten Paul Royall backed up the apology.
He wrote on twitter: “We apologise for the human error which fell below our usual standards on the programme.”
