Earlier the outgoing PM spoke to Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, and assured him UK support will “not waver” after he goes.

Mr Johnson told MPs to stick up for Ukraine in his final Commons speech as PM this week.

No10 said: “President Zelensky thanked the PM for his staunch support for Ukraine, and for his kind words in his last address to Parliament.”

Carrie and daughter Romy previously made a public show of support for Mr Johnson when he quit as PM.

Mrs Johnson carried their daughter Romy in a grey Baby Bjorn sling worth £120 as Boris addressed the nation.

Little Romy, who wore a yellow bow in her hair and strawberry-print socks, has been seen only rarely since she arrived on December 9.

Her doting parents shared a photo of her with big brother Wilf at Christmas, although did not show either of the children’s faces.

However, she was brought along for support as Mr Johnson told Brits he has decided to step down after facing one of the biggest rebellions in the country’s political history.

In his speech he shared a special word for his wife and children, telling them how grateful he was for their support.

“I want to thank Carrie and our children and members of family who had to put up with so much for so long,” he said.
