BORIS Johnson tonight urged people NOT to move their 6-person gatherings inside as the weather turns worse.

Speaking tonight as Britain’s sunny summer weather started to return to cloud and rain, he stressed now was not the time to dip inside with friends and family.

Boris Johnson said tonight that people shouldn’t gather with others inside

Since Monday people in England have been allowed to meet up with up to six other people outside – as long as they stand 2m apart from everyone at all times.

But people are unable to have dinner with pals or host house parties inside at the moment.

At tonight’s Downing Street briefing the PM said: “As the weather threatens to take a turn for the worse, some of you may be tempted to move the gatherings as you’ve been enjoying outdoors indoors, out of the rain.

“Don’t do that.”

Thunderstorms and temperatures plunging by 10C across the UK are set to bring a soggy end to the heatwave in the next few days.

Air from the Arctic Ocean has been forecast to send temperatures plummeting from today after hot spots like Bournemouth and Brighton were seen heaving with sun-seekers.

Today’s conditions will be a stark contrast to the balmy weather we have seen in the last week.

It brings a chilly end to the sunshine which has seen Britain bask in some of the hottest days of the year.

The UK is currently experiencing its hottest spring on record, with Cromdale in Scotland recording 28C last Friday.

Yesterday, Southampton and Gosport logged the warmest temperatures, with the rest of the south coast basking in some of the balmiest weather.
