THE PM’s top adviser Dominic Cummings has sat in on Covid-19 meetings of Britain’s top scientific group, it emerged last night.

Boffins on the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) have been advising Downing Street on how to tackle the virus.

Sage includes scientists, medics and other experts, but its full membership has not been published amid security fears.

Downing Street sources last night confirmed Mr Cummings attended some Sage meetings.

A government spokesman said: “Expert participants often vary for each meeting according to which expertise is required.

“A number of representatives from government departments and No10 attend also.”

The name of another aide, Ben Warner, was also on a list leaked to The Guardian.

Former Cabinet Office minister David Lidington — an aide to the last PM — told the paper: “I’m not aware of any minister or special adviser, certainly not in Theresa May’s time, ever having been involved in the scientific advisory panels.”
