DONALD Trump plans to offer Boris Johnson a happy new year with ‘massive trade deal’ after Brexit.

The US President is said to have invited the Prime Minister and Carrie Symonds for an official visit in the new year.

The US president is said to be ready for a ‘massive trade deal’.

This will set Britain on the way to a new trade deal with the US once we finally leave the European Union.

A source close to the White House said: “The president has made it clear that he wants to strike a massive trade deal with the UK and has underlined his commitment by inviting Boris Johnson and Carrie Symonds to visit him in the US in the new year.

“Some potential dates have been floated in mid-January but nothing has yet been formally agreed. But it is clear that both sides want to make it happen some time in early 2020.”

The planned visit was set in motion after Mr Johnson’s election victory, with the US President said to have run the PM offering a visit wherever they wanted” during a phone call offering his congratulations.

Mr Johnson is said to want to visit after a reshuffle in February, with Michael Gove tipped to run a new trade negotiations ‘super-department’.

However Downing Street is said to be “in no rush to accept” the offer after the US president was hit with an impeachment charge.

The hearing comes after claims he sought help from Ukraine to boost his chances of being re-elected in 2020.

Woody Johnson said Britain was on the way to the “roaring twenties”.

It comes as the American ambassador to London, Woody Johnson, hailed Brexit as a “really amazing opportunity” for the UK.

He said: “You have a clear direction, you have really good leadership fired up to get something done.

So yes, a Roaring Twenties, absolutely.
