Ethnic minorities are the group of Brits least likely to get a covid vaccine, new research shows

Black brits are the ethnic group least likely to get the jab, with only 50% of respondents saying they were open to the idea.

The data from Opinium Research surveyed 2,006 Brit adults with around 513 from ethnic minorities also revealed that 48% of ethnic minorities are reluctant to get a vaccine because of fears over how quickly the jab was developed by scientists.

Around 23% say they don’t trust the government rolling out the jab but 55% said they would be persuaded to get the vaccine if they were given more information that it was safe for them.

Home Secretary Priti Patel previously urged Brits from ethnic minorities to go out and get vaccinated.

Priti Patel urged Brits from ethnic minorities to ‘get the jab, it will save your life, it will save the lives of your friends and family’

She told HOAR: “I say to everybody from every ethnic background; when you get the call, when you get the text message, when you get the letter from your GP, come down to your vaccination site and get the jab, it’ll save your life.”

The Home Secretary added: “This vaccine will save lives – it will save your life, it will save the lives of your friends and family.”
