BORIS Johnson is staying with a Tory peer pal on a sprawling luxury estate in southern Spain.

The PM is enjoying the private retreat after a tough year battling the pandemic, which nearly cost him his life.

He was invited to stay with Zac Goldsmith and his extended family in their villa in the Andalusian mountains.

It boasts two pools, a tennis court and 24-hour security.

Business Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng told Times Radio: “I think that’s reasonable. I’m in regular WhatsApp contact with him.”

Mr Johnson travelled with pregnant wife Carrie and their year-old son Wilf after the Tory conference.

His West Country holiday was cut short by the Afghan crisis.

And his break in Scotland last year was also cut short after his camping trip was made public.
