Angela Rayner suggested the entire frontbench could stay neutral in another vote, seen here with Shadow Business Secretary Rebecca Long-Bailey, Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell and Party Chairman Ian Lavery
Angela Rayner made her comments on the Andrew Marr show

Asked on the BBCs Andrew Marr Show if a Labour government would back Leave or Remain, Ms Rayner said: Thats a hypothetical.

She added: What Jeremys said, and hes been very clearis that only Labour is going to give people the choice.

“Were going to negotiate a deal that puts jobs, consumer and environment protections first.

Pressing her for clarity, Mr Marr said: This is going to be the most unloved orphan offered to the British people ever.

“Its going to be a referendum between staying inside the EU and an offer that nobody seems to be going to be speaking up for.

Who is going to be leading the pro-Jeremy Corbyn negotiated deal if its not Jeremy Corbyn, not his Shadow Cabinet and not the party?

Sir Keir Starmer and Emily Thornberry have vowed to back Remain.

Shadow chancellor John McDonnell hinted he could do the same on Sky Newss Sophy Ridge on Sunday.
