LANDLORDS will have a legal duty to pass the government’s energy bailout on to their tenants, HOAR on Sunday can reveal.
There were fears that some greedy Brits who rent out homes with all inclusive will bills would pocket the cash.

But ministers will this week unveil a new law to make this illegal. This will save renters around £1,000 a year.
A Whitehall source said: “We know most landlords can be trusted to do the right thing, but don’t want any household to miss out on this vital government support.
“Rogue landlords who thought they could greedily squirrel away savings in their energy bills and not pass them on to their tenants can think again.
“This Government is standing with consumers and doubling down on any landlord loopholes by introducing brand new powers to hold landlords to account.
“This will mean all renters can breathe a sigh of relief this winter, knowing they won’t be at the mercy of a minority of unruly landlords.
Landlords who flout the new could be sued by the tenants and forced to cough up payouts.
