LIZ Truss last night hit back at claims she wanted to charge all patients to see their GP and cut back on defence kit.

It emerged she co-authored a 2009 report that demanded doctors’ pay be slashed by a hefty 10 per cent.

The Tory frontrunner also allegedly wanted to axe two Navy aircraft carriers and reduce the number of Typhoon fighter jets.

TalkTV’s The News Desk revealed the paper “Back to Black” argued for budget cuts to shrink the size of the state.

Team Truss said: “Co-authoring a document does not mean that someone supports every proposal put forward.

“Liz is focused on her bold economic plan to boost growth, cut taxes and put money back into hardworking people’s pockets”.
