The outspoken Good Morning Britain host took to Twitter just minutes after the election exit poll tipped the Tories to win a whopping 368 seats.

Morgan said: “Congrats Hugh Grant & Steve Coogan – you helped get Boris a landslide.”

The broadcaster then replied directly to Corbynista Hugh Grant after he tweeted “there goes the neighbourhood”, saying: “No, there goes your credibility.

“The British people listened to your democracy-wrecking garbage & told you to f**k off.”

Alan Partridge actor Coogan and Four Weddings and a Funeral star Grant have thrown their weight behind Labour this election.

Coogan sparked fury today in a bizarre rant where he called Conservative voters ignorant and suggested Brexit-backers were “ill-informed”.

While Grant was taken to task by Jewish voters as he hit the campaign trail with the Labour candidate for Chingford and Woodford Green in North London last week.

Tonight’s exit poll put the Conservatives on track for a huge win, with Labour trailing behind on 191.

The expected results mean Britain’s political chaos could finally be over, leaving Boris with the numbers to push his Brexit deal through Parliament in weeks.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Corbyn will be facing deafening calls to finally quit as Labour leader after failing to win a second general election in a row – and seeing Labour to its worst defeat since 1983 under Michael Foot.

Brits queued at polling stations across the country despite the miserable weather to cast their vote in the 2019 general election.

Exit polls put Boris Johnson on course for a majority win with 368 while Labour trailed at just 191.

Tweeting today, Boris had urged Tories to turn out: “Today is our chance to get Brexit done. Vote Conservative.”

As he was pictured campaigning this evening in his constituency of Uxbridge and South Ruislip, hisgirlfriend Carrie Symonds also told voters to “keep going”.

The third General Election in less than five years has been largely dominated by the 2016 vote to leave the European Union – with Labour pledging to give voters another say in a second referendum, while the Tories have vowed to take the UK out of the EU next month.

The last election in the UK in 2017 saw a 68.8 per cent turnout, higher than at the 2015 and 2010 elections – with bookies offering 6-4 odds on a 65-70 per cent turnout this year.
