LONDON Mayoral candidate Rory Stewart has revealed he shares bath water with the rest of his family to save water.
Mr Stewart, his two children and wife all use the same bath for “environmental reasons”.
The London Mayoral candidate, who defected from the Conservative Party last year, told Jeremy Vine he’s happy sharing his bath with his whole family.
He said: “It’s even worse than you think – the two-year-old and the five-year-old and my wife.”
Mr Stewart said the bath tub arrangements often lead to uncomfortable conversations with his kids.
He said: “There’s often a very, very awkward conversation with the two year old where I stare at him and say ‘did you pee in daddy’s Bath?’
“And he goes ‘no daddy’ and as soon as I get in my wife said ‘he did you know’”.
“I started doing this as a young child, we continued doing it sometimes when I was in the army and when we were in operations.”
He added: “(It is) something that I now do because I care about environmental things.
“This connects the Victorian with the 21st Century, but unfortunately it involves my two-year-old peeing in the bath.”
Mr Stewart is getting up close and personal with Londoners in his bid to be Mayor after asking people to let him sleep on their sofa.
He said his #ComeKipWithMe scheme allows him to understand people’s problems more.
Mr Stewart is running against Conservative candidate Shaun Bailey and current Labour mayor Sadiq Khan.
