But they must be destroyed after a decade if they are not used and campaigners say the law discriminates against women.

Health ministers are now consulting on extending storage time, giving thousands more Brits the chance to have kids.

Health Minister Caroline Dinenage said: Every person should get the best possible opportunity to start a family.

I am particularly concerned by the impact of the law on womens reproductive choices.

A limit can mean women are faced with the heart-breaking decision to destroy frozen eggs or feel pressured to have a child before theyre ready.

The number of women freezing their eggs has increased by a whopping 257 per cent in the last five years.
