Paul said: ‘The duchess loved the book as a child and reads it to her three children’

The story was written in 1968 by Jill Tomlinson.

Paul became involved 22 years ago when it was decided to do a picture book version.

Paul, from Belfast, said: “I’m delighted it has been personally chosen by the Duchess of Cambridge.

“It covers the themes of growing together.

“The duchess loved the book as a child and reads it to her three children.”

He said the book’s continuing popularity shows the power of reading together as a family.

Kate will appear on CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories on Sunday at 6.50pm to mark Children’s Mental Health Week.
