BUCKINGHAM Palace has slapped down claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have “single-handedly modernised” the monarchy, it has been revealed.

A senior courtier shamed a source for voicing such comments, insisting all family issues will be “discussed behind closed doors”.

Last week the source, who is close to Harry and Meghan, spoke to CNN amid the fallout from the explosive ITV documentary Harry &Meghan: An African Journey, in which the pair spoke about their struggles with fame.

It followed reports that the DUke of Sussex would like to move out of the UK entirely.

The source remained anonymous, to blast palace officials for their inability and fear to help the royal couple “harness and deploy” their value.

The Sussexes’ aide even slammed the response to Harry’s remarks about his older brother William as “hysteria” insisting the siblings are in touch with each other.

But the senior palace courtier politely issued the source a word of caution.

The insider told The Mail on Sunday: “Theres enough experience here despite what was said to know that people who jump in with comments from the sanctity of being unnamed and unidentifiable might think they are helping.

“But the family is clear that if there are issues to be discussed they will be discussed behind closed doors.”

The claims from the palace official comes after another insider claimed there was a “startling lack of self-awareness” over problems Meghan and Harryhave created – including the row over their private jet use this summer.

‘WORRIED’ SENIOR ROYALS

Harry spoke about his relationship with brother William – causing a rift in his inner circle with some praising him for being tactful and truthful while others suggested he should’ve denied a spat.

The prince told ITV: “We dont see each other as much as we used to because were so busy.

But I love him dearly and the majority of the stuff is created out of nothing. But as brothers, you have good days, you have bad days.

Within hours of airing Palace sources were playing down suggestions William was furious with Harry over the documentary.

One said: Anybody who watched it would feel compassion and concern.

As Harry has said, he knows his brother is there for him. They have been on different paths for many months.

But there is no anger between them.

Royal insiders revealed William is “worried” about the pair – who appeared vulnerable – and hoped they “are all right”.

But the source, speaking to the US broadcaster, aid the prince had always talked openly about his mental health.

It has been reported theprinces spoke to each other privately after the documentary aired and the apparent confirmation of the distance between the two was revealed.

It is understood the Queen would have been “a little bit dismayed” by the broadcast of personal relationship details to the public, the Daily Telegraph reports.
