CHARLOTTE Church has admitted that the Queen never recognises her despite meeting the monarch seven times.

The Welsh singer made the comments back in 2011, where she also described Her Majesty as having no idea whats going on.

Charlotte Church has previously admitted that the Queen “never recognises her”

Speaking to Esquire magazine at the time she said, I’ve met her about seven times and she never remembers me.

When you get close to her you realise she’s an old woman and has no idea what’s going on.

She then went on to express her sympathies for the monarch.

She added: I feel really sorry for her.

She probably doesn’t want to be wheeled out at every Royal Variety Performance to watch scantily clad dancers and s***** comedians.

The Welsh singer claims to have met the royal “about seven times”

Charlotte isn’t the only star that the Queen has had a struggle placing with Madonna previously erupting into a fit of giggles when the royal didn’t recognise her.

The awkward encounter took place at the UK premiere for the James Bond movie Die Another Day in 2002.

When The Queen asked who Madonna was, her aide informed her that the star hadperformed the blockbuster’s title track to which the monarch replied: “Oh really, did you?”

Fortunately for the music icon, she wasn’t the only one The Queen didn’t recognise.

As she went to shake hands with John Cleese – who played Q in the blockbuster – Her Majesty asked: “And what do you do?”

After pulling a face at someone across the room, Madonna also can’t contain her giggles when The Queen didn’t know who her co-star Rick Yune was.
