THE UK’S coronavirus death toll has risen by 917 – bringing the total number of people to have died in hospital to 9,875,  with the youngest victim only 11-years-old.

The Queen assured the UK in her Easter address that “Easter is not cancelled” and “by keeping apart we keep others safe.”

Health minister Matt Hancock urged Brits to stay home over the Easter bank holiday weekend.

And the death toll continues to climb, now nearing 10,000 as officials believe new Covid-19 infections will peak today, Easter Sunday and the NHS is braced for a “tsunami” of cases.

Ministers said the UK will remain in lockdown until figures start to fall, while police have already issued over a 1,000 fines to those breaching the restrictions.
