EASTENDERS fans believe that Whitney will defend abusive Gray when Chantelle finally exposes him.

The pair have been seen getting increasingly close in recent weeks as the lawyer defends her in court for the murder of stalker Leo King.

Gray has been defending Whitney in her murder case

Most recently, Gray sprung to Whitney’s protection when Leo’s mum verbally abused her in the Queen Vic.

However, the suave character is hiding a dark and disturbing secret, regularly abusing his wife Chantelle – even breaking her arm – behind closed doors.

While the whole of Walford have been fawning over Leo’s heroics in the courtroom, Chantelle is the only one who knows his true colours – and fans believe that when Gray eventually is exposed it’ll be Whitney who supports him.

Writing in a soap forum, one fan wrote: “Whitney will probably be the one who sticks up for Gray when this all comes out cause she feels like she owes him.

“Then they will get together and the nauseating recycle of Whitney unable to see what’s staring her in the face will resurface.”

Another theorised that Whitney and Gray will have an affair behind Chantelle’s back, adding: “Gray will continue to abuse Chantelle but also perhaps mentally abuses Whitney – perhaps promising her that he’ll leave Chantelle for her.

“Or the abuse of Chantelle comes out but Whitney refuses to believe it. Eventually both women crack.”

The whole of Walford are in awe of Gray for defending Whitney for free

Gray’s vile treatment of Chantelle has sparked Ofcom complaints in the past, with viewers recently fearing that he’d killed his wife after he lost his job and launched into a brutal attack.

His dedication to helping Whitney free of charge after she killed evil Leo in self-defence has won him the admiration from the rest of Albert Square, with Chantelle’s mum Karen even referring to him as “wonder boy”.
