The Invictus Games promo had fans talking on social media

It was released on a number of official social media sites for Invictus with the games taking place in Dusseldorf in September 2023.

The black and white trailer shows competitors preparing to enter an empty stadium for a table tennis match.

But there is a twist when Prince Harry is revealed to be their opponent, and he can be seen smiling before nodding his head in response to an impressive shot.

After he fails to return one player’s quick serve, the Prince cracks a smile, nods and walks back towards the entrance of the stadium to allow another player to take his spot.

At the very end of the video, Harry picks up his table tennis bat once again before taking on the final competitor – his wife Meghan.

The caption for the video reads: “Are you ready? The incredible experience that is the #InvictusGames is coming ever closer.

“Be a part of it to experience the power of sport in recovery in Dusseldorf 9-16 Sept 2023. Tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies are now available!”

And fans on social media were quick to point out how the release of the video coincides with the first day of Prince William and Kate’s visit to Boston.

The royals are set to land in the US later on Wednesday for a three-day tour in celebration of the second annual Earthshot Prize Awards.

It comes as the couple’s fly-on-the-wall documentary is expected to hit our screens next week.

But exactly what viewers can expect from the highly-anticipated £88million series remains to be seen.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex previously promised to offer an insight into their “love story” on the show.

And former actress Meghan teased her fans by vowing to share parts of her life she has never been able to before.

But beyond that, royal watchers will be in for a surprise come December 8.

What we do know, is that the programme has had its fair share of controversy and could well upset members of the Firm.

Whatever the show entails, it is bound to get people talking.

Netflix is already facing criticism over series five of The Crown, which came out on November 9.

Bosses have been blasted for “inventing” scenes of a younger Charles trying to oust the Queen.
