Calls to strip the Sussexes of their titles have soared after the pair made a raft of scathing allegations in their new Netflix docuseries

Among accusations made in two explosive teasers for the six-parter are that the Royal Family are racist and they did not protect Meghan.

The stinging salvos were just a handful in a volley of attacks which also saw the pair spark a “fakery” storm over press intrusion.

And as the first three episodes of Harry & Meghan go live on the streaming giant on Thursday, with the rest out December 15, questions are being asked over how The King can respond.

Speaking to HOAR Online, royal expert Angela Levin said retaliation poses not just problems for potential reconciliation – but a constitutional one, too.

The author explained: “If you take a step like stripping them of their titles it’s going to get worse.

“They could take the royals to court to try and get some judge to say ‘no’ and let them keep their titles.”

Stripping Harry and Meghan of their royal titles – a wedding gift from The Queen – is not impossible.

But it would spark a constitutional crisis because the Duke is in line to the throne.

Ms Levin went on to stress that, while the royals are in “a tight spot” with the raft of allegations, they have remained “dignified” by carrying on as usual.

This is despite the “extraordinary behaviour” of the Sussexes, who she accused of “holding the family to ransom” with explosive accusations.

Such claims include women allegedly being treated unfairly in The Firm and that there’s an ingrained “hierarchy”.

But Ms Levin reckoned The King will issue a statement in response to allegations levelled at his family in due course, but he will for the moment hold off.

Analysing the crisis, she blasted: “Harry and Meghan are set on destruction.

“They push and push and push and in the end they [Royal Family] don’t take any notice of their behaviour.

“I think they will wait until after the book comes out.”

Prince Harry’s tell-all memoirs, ‘Spare’, are due out January 10.

The Royal expert – who spent months with Harry when writing a book on him – said it was vital The Firm “retain their dignity” with what is a “very, very tricky” situation.

“They can’t go as low as they’re going, they just can’t”, she added.

But Ms Levin did not rule out a retaliation if the Netflix docuseries or Harry’s new book went for Kate.

She explained: “They need to see what’s in the documentaries and then what is going on with the book, if they [Sussexes] attack or interfere with Catherine’s life.”

Prince William has allegedly briefed aides to watch the series and prepare for detailed responses to allegations levelled at The Firm by the Sussexes.
