PRINCE George looked more grown up than ever as he posed alongside Prince William, Charles and his gan-gan the Queen for a portrait to mark the new decade.

However, royal fans may be able to spot something that has remained unchanged about the youngster who was pictured wearing the same shirt that he always wears on formal occasions.

Prince George was spotted his favourite white shirt as he posed for a new photo with Prince William, Charles and the Queen

The Rachel Riley white shirt with blue piping has been worn by the six-year-old on eight other occasions.

He owns the shirt by the British childrenswear designer in several different styles including a variation on the shade of piping as well as different sleeve lengths.

The heir to the throne was first seen wearing the 55 shirt, which is currently on sale for 27.50, for his portrait to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday.

Age just three, George could be seen standing on a pile of books as he joined the Queen, William and Charles for the first time, showing four generations of the royal heirs.

The shirt was worn by George for this portrait back in 2015 marking the Queen’s 90th birthday

George was then seen wearing it for his first portrait with his sister Princess Charlotte that same year

Later that year he was seen wearing the pique piper shirt once again as he was pictured holding a newborn Princess Charlotte.

The piece returned the following year for Trooping the Colour 2016 but was not seen again until the same even in 2018.

It was then worn to his youngest sibling, Prince Louis christening in July 2018.

However, this appearance saw a variation with George wearing a short sleeve version for the summer, and the piping was a teal colour rather than dusky blue.

The shirt made another appearance at Trooping the Colour in 2016 – this time in a shorter sleeve

It was seen again at the same event two years later

And then again at the christening of his youngest sibling Prince Louis

It was seen again just days later when Kate Middleton shared a photo of her eldest to mark his fifth birthday.

That year saw George wear the shirt a fourth time when he wore it to act as a pageboy at his second cousin Princess Eugenies wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October.

This time, the shirt had gone back to its originally long-sleeved format but the piping had received an update now in a navy blue colour.

And it was last seen two weeks ago when he was pictured helping to make Christmas puddings

And just two weeks ago the navy-trimmed shirt appeared again as the prince joined his father, grandfather and great-grandmother to make Christmas puddings as part of the Royal British Legions Together at Christmas initiative.

Its most recent wear came yesterday as George posed for the family portrait marking the new decade.

While we have been used to seeing Prince George dressed in shorts during his childhood, in the new heartwarming photo the young prince is wearing Black Watch tartan trousers.
