Zara Phillips and rugby player boyfriend Mike Tindall paid £800,000 for this three storey Georgian house in the regency town of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire and have reportedly spent another £250,000 on renovations. They moved into the property at the beginning of 2010, leaving the cottage on the Princess Royal's Gatcombe Estate which they had shared for some time. Mr Tindall proposed to his partner at their Gloucestershire home and the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are said to be "delighted" by the news. A Buckingham Palace statement said: "The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Zara Phillips to Mr Mike Tindall, son of Mr Phillip and Mrs Linda Tindall."
Pictured: Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall's new home
Ref: SPL228787 040310
Picture by: Wakeham / Splash News

Splash News and Pictures
Los Angeles: 310-821-2666
New York: 212-619-2666
London: 870-934-2666
[email protected]

THIS stunning £1.69million regency villa was once the “wedding” home of the Mike and Zara Tindall.

The Royal couple moved into Mallery House in Cheltenham before their marriage in 2011.

Zara and Mike Tindall sold the property in 2013

The luxury Grade II listed house, built in about 1823, includes a jacuzzi, a gym and a cinema.

Zara and Mike met when England won the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia. They wed in July 2011.

They picked the plush pad when Tindall, who was banned from driving at the time, played for rugby club Gloucester.

In 2013, the Tindalls sold the property for £1.2 million when they moved to her mother Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire.

And four years later it was on the market for £400,000 more.

Nick Chivers from Knight Frank said at the time: “The Tindalls weren’t there that long but they refurbished it to what it is now.

“The Tindalls did a great job of making it look very beautiful.”

The couple now live in a cottage on Princess Anne’s estate.

The house is set out over four floors and has 4,941sq ft of accommodation.

It includes a large kitchen/breakfast room, drawing room, dining room and snug/study.

The basement has a large cinema room, another kitchen, a large gym with a Jacuzzi bath and two bedrooms, but could be used as a self-contained apartment.

On the upper two floors there are five bedrooms and three bathrooms.

The main bedroom has a huge en-suite and a large dressing room.

There’s plenty of space for parking and a terrace running around the side.

The villa is radically different to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s £12million mansion in California, US.

Prince Harry and Meghan Makrle have lived in their luxury Montecito mansion since they splashed out £11.93m on it in June 2020.

The sprawling nine-bed, 16-bath home in Santa Barbara sits on 5.4 acres of land and features a library, office, spa, gym, game room, wine cellar and five-car garage, it’s believed.

The estate also boasts sweeping lawns, tiered rose gardens, tall Italian cypress trees, blooming lavender, olive trees, a tennis court, tea house, children’s cottage and a pool.

The couple have treated fans to glimpses of their multiple living spaces on several occasions – showing off a minimalist vibe.

In May this year it was said to have more than doubled in value since the former royals bought it.
