CALLING all royal fans! Over the weekend, Prince Charles gave a glimpse inside his VERY messy office at his home in Scotland – and it is full of sweet family photos and his grandkids’ rainbow artwork.

The photo was posted on Clarence House’s Twitter account and shows Prince Charles sitting at his desk in his Scottish residence Birkall which is situated on The Queen‘s Balmoral estate.

Prince Charles treated fans to a glimpse of his office in Birkall over the weekend

As the Prince of Wales chats to Alan Titchmarsh over a video call, the wooden desk in front of him is covered in paperwork and personal treasures – such as framed photos of his wife Camilla and The Queen Mother.

Although Prince Charles treated fans to a glimpse of his study last month, the office has never been pictured from this angle before – and never looked quite so messy.

Here Fabulous Digital examines Prince Charles’ most prized personal treasures that he keeps on display during the working day.

1. Framed Photograph of Prince George

Taking pride of place on Charles’ sideboard is a framed photograph of his eldest grandson Prince George.

The proud grandfather chose a sweet photo of then two-year-old George at Princess Charlotte‘s christening in June 2015.

Taken almost five years ago, the young royal is pictured in a pair of red shorts and matching shirt as he clasps onto Prince William‘s hand.

2. Grandkids’ rainbow paintings

Next to the portrait of Prince George are several rainbow painting thought to have been by Prince Charles’ grandchildren.

Earlier this year, Kate Middleton shared photos of Prince Louis painting a rainbow to celebrate his second birthday and thank the NHS amid the coronavirus crisis.

Since the UK went into lockdown in March, millions of children have been painting rainbows which are then displayed in windows as symbols of hope in the face of the ongoing pandemic.

3. Framed Photo of Camilla

Prince Charles has several framed photos on his desk – but the first one is of his wife Camilla.

This black-and-white portrait is the Prince’s largest framed photo and appears to have been taken during the couple’s royal tour of Egypt in 2006 – where Camilla was required to wear a headscarf.

4. Queen Mother Portrait

The Prince also has a framed photo of his late grandmother

Prince Charles also has a photo of the late Queen Mother on his desk.

The Prince of Wales had a close relationship with his “magical” grandmother who reportedly inspired his love of music.

During his video call with Alan Titchmarsh, Prince Charles told Classic FM listeners that the Queen Mother instilled a love of classical music in him.

Discussing his earliest memory of classical music, he said: “Well I suppose various people would play it around me. My grandmother used to play quite a bit of music, so I would hear something there.

Prince Charles says the Queen Mother inspired his love of classical music

“But I suspect the first time I really became aware of it was being taken by my grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, to Covent Garden aged seven, I think.

‘It must have been in 1956 to see the Bolshoi Ballet perform. It was their first visit to the United Kingdom and I shall never forget that incredible occasion. I was completely inspired by it.”

The Birkall residence Prince Charles and Camilla are currently self-isolation in used to belong to his late grandmother.

5. Religious portrait of Mary, Joseph and Jesus

Tucked in front of another family photo is a religious portrait of Mary, Joseph and Jesus.

Although he will one day be head of the Church of England, Prince Charles’ interest in religious studies has seen the royal study Judaism and attend Catholic masses.

6. Prince Charles’ personal stationery

Strewn among the papers cluttering Charles’ desk is the royal’s own personal stationery with its distinctive green letterhead.

The father-of-two stores his paper, envelopes and note cards behind his family photos.

7. Green sofa

In the far corner of the room, Prince Charles has a comfy green sofa where he can sit and admire the surrounding countryside.

In this photo, the view of the sofa is slightly obscured by Charles’ iPad but is situated next to his impressive CD collection.

8. Large houseplant

Next to the sofa is a large houseplant

Next to his sofa set-up, Prince Charles has a large houseplant in the corner of his study.

The green-thumbed royal previously told Country Life magazine that he enjoys “enhancing” the greenery and that his late grandmother’s gardens are a “special place”.

9. CD collection

The Prince also boasts an impressive CD collection

They may have fallen out of fashion in recent years but Prince Charles boasts an impressive collection of CDs.

During his interview with Classic FM, the royal spoke about his lifelong love of music and that he learnt cello and the trumpet as a child.

10. iPad stand

The Prince has invested in a smart iPad stand for his work video calls

Since going into self-isolation, Prince Charles has been conducting all of his meeting over video calls on his iPad.

So it’s hardly surprisingly that the royal has upgraded the stack of books he used to rest his device on and invested in a snazzy stand to keep his iPad upright.

11. Gold desk ornaments

The royal also has a number of gold trinkets on his desk

Along with his fine china teacup, Prince Charles also has a number of gold desk ornaments littering the top of his desk.

The Prince has a neat selection of silver jars as well as a gold covered dish with ornate detailing.

In more Royal Family news, Prince William said becoming a dad brought back ‘traumatic emotions’ from his mother Princess Diana’s death.

And Prince Harry will be a ‘lost soul’ living in Los Angeles as he’s not ‘as tough’ as Meghan Markle, expert claims.

Plus The Queen’s coronation was almost ruined by her lady-in-waiting nearly fainting on live TV.
