KATE Middleton has been an instrumental member of the Royal Family for the past 10 years and is used to having her every move captured on camera.

But as for childhood photos of the Duchess of Cambridge, they aren’t something royal fans don’t get to see all that often – which is why this adorable black-and-white picture is such a treat.

To mark Carole Middleton’s 67th birthday today, the mum-of-three’s business Party Pieces shared an old family portrait on their Instagram page.

The adorable picture shows seven-year-old Kate in a striped hat and blowing a party horn playfully in her mum’s direction.

Meanwhile, a five-year-old Pippa gleefully has her arms up in the air while their younger brother James – who also wears a party hat – looks towards his eldest sister.

Posing in front of a table full of presents, Carole – pictured in a chic belted dress – beams to the camera as she’s surrounded by her children.

The caption read: “Happiest of Birthdays to the party planner extraordinaire!

“We hope you have the most magical day.”

The photo was taken in 1989 – two years after Carole founded the business.

The Middleton family lived in the Jordan’s capital city Amman for two years before moving back to the UK in 1986 and settling in Berkshire.

The following year, Carole and Michael welcomed their son James and the mum-of-three left British Airways – where they both worked – to set up Party Pieces.

By 1990, the business had become so successful that she converted the neglected barns and sheds at Child’s Court Farm in Berkshire into their headquarters and still continues to send out 4,000 orders a week.

What’s more, Carole says grandchildren – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – love visiting her at work too.

Royal expert Phil Dampier previously told Fabulous Digital: “Carole has taken the kids to Party Pieces and they played shopkeeper there with all the stock.

“Prince George goes out a lot with his grandmother Carole. They go to the beach there and they are very close.”

The young royals are also said to like playing games at the party supply company and are frequently treated to sweets and chips.

In more Royal Family news, The Queen’s ‘favourite’ granddaughter had no idea who her gran was… and found out in a VERY unusual way.

And Meghan Markle could be set to relaunch lifestyle blog The Tig after trademark application.

Plus Prince George’s godmother honours her late friend Diana by giving him ‘hilariously inconvenient’ presents.
