Naturally, Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly had a few options when they were expecting their first baby back in 2013.

But while they settled on the name George for their son, it turns out their eldest child could have been named something completely different.

According to Vanity Fair, the then first-time parents didn’t want to find out the sex of their baby.

The expert claims Kate had an inkling it was a boy and “had her heart set on the name Alexander.”

However, the proud parents reportedly only decided to call their new baby George after he arrived.

The name Alexander also has a long history within the Royal Family and was one of the late Duke of Kent’s middle names.

What’s more, one of The Queen’s middle names is also Alexandra – which led royal fans to make £60,000 worth of bets predicting Kate would name her firstborn Alexandra if it was a girl, The Telegraph reports.
